PRESS RELEASE
A video that has circulated on the Internet and on BP Emco's web site shows a comparison of the acoustic performance of certain materials. According to the video, better sound attenuation results were obtained with Enermax insulation than with the Sonopan acoustical panel.
The video appeared on the following sites:
http://www.bpcan.com/products.aspx?f=7
http://www.youtube.com/BPEnermax#p/a/u/1/7aem1d_9r0A
http://www.quebecaudio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20271
We asked the Groupe d’Acoustique de l’Université de Sherbrooke to measure, in their laboratory, the performance of Sonopan and Enermax as well as of standard natural fiberboard panels.
The results are:
Sonopan = STC 27
Enermax = STC 23
Natural fiberboard panel = STC 22
The information conveyed is therefore defamatory towards SONOPAN, and the tests presented in this video can only be biased.
